It’s powered by the Wordpress blogging platform. I’ve used this piece of software for a good few years now. It’s primarily for blogging however if setup correctly it can be used as a content management system. It makes updating websites easy whether it be through the admin interface or on my mobile phone. One of the many benefits are the hundreds of plug ins that are available for the software. Recently I’ve been playing around with editing how Wordpress works and this is the first time I have used it with my own custom made theme.

Most of the pages have been made and are administrated through the Wordpress editor. Some pages (like the /radio page) have been made in PHP and use the Wordpress headers to maintain consistency in design. The radio page in particular isn’t administrated through Wordpress because I have made custom schedule scripts which are easier to run seperatley.

The site runs on a LAMP server. Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. This is pretty standard for web hosting. The server is a Virtual Private Server which I administrate. I host various other websites and scripts on this box too. It is hosted in the UK by ConnectSwitch.com – they seem pretty reasonable and in the 6 months I have used them I have suffered very few problems or downtime.

E-mail for my domains is hosted in Google Mail for domains. I have used Google Mail as my main email address for the best part of 5 years now and it is perfect for everything I want from it.
